The process of researching and deliberating as to the public school that best suits the needs of you and your family can be tough, but we’re here to help. This week in our School District Showcase, we’re taking a look at Niskayuna Central School District.
Located in Schenectady County, Niskayuna might not be the largest school district in the area, but it certainly isn’t the smallest, with a student population of roughly 4,150. The district consists of five elementary schools and two middle schools, funneling into one centralized high school, accommodating all Niskayuna residents, as well as students in portions of Glenville, Clifton Park and Colonie.
Niskayuna prides itself both on its strong performance in academics as well as its commitment to the arts. With a tradition of over 90% of graduates attending college, Niskayuna consistently ranks near or at the top of the Albany Business Review’s annual ranking of Capital District schools. Furthermore, in 2014 and 2015, Niskayuna was recognized for its “outstanding commitment to music education” by the National Association of Music Merchants with a “Best Communities for Music Education” designation. Niskayuna is a district dedicated to fostering the growth of their students, both academically as well as culturally.
Competitive extracurricular programs coupled with rigorous academic standards have formed the backbone of Niskayuna’s track record of success. In an area of competitive academic establishments, Niskayuna truly shines through as one of the best.
